"Crash" McCain Lost Five U.S. Navy Aircraft

(If this topic has been posted, please tell me and I'll delete it. Since only pro-Obama / I-hate-Hillary diaries have been making the rec list for months, now, I haven't been reading this blog as much, lately. If it was posted, it probably slid quickly off the front page into oblivion, anyway, since it's something negative about McCain, the Republican, instead of one of the Democrats.)
I was watching the idiot box over the noon hour and I heard Monica (Novotny?) talking to something like the 18th person about Rev. Wright. When she asked, "What has Obama got to do to put this behind him?" what was left of my brains spattered against the wall as my head exploded.
After I gathered what gray matter I could scrape off the walls and scooped it back into my now-empty skull, I screamed at the teevee, "You could start by talking about that asshole John Haggee's endorsement that McSame is so F%#$#ing proud of for a change!!!"
I dunno. Maybe it's because I had just read this Digby post:
Neal Gabler has a fascinating article today in the NY Times about the relationship between St. McCain and his Hannah Montana fanboys in the press. I think he really gets to the nub of the mutual fascination --- and outlines how McCain manages to fool a good number of Americans into thinking he is really a closet liberal despite being a raving wingnut:
It occurred to me that, if a few people could be peeled away from doing "oppo-research" on whichever Democratic candidate is "standing in the way of our rightful nominee" and focussed on McCadaver, instead, maybe we could do what so many people want the candidates to do, which is "focus on winning the general election, and stop destroying each other in the primaries".
You know. "Lead by example" and all that happy horses&^t?
So, I posted that Digby article on my pathetic little backwater blog, where some people I've know for years to have their ears to the ground, could see it and give me some feedback. Do you want to know what happened next?
First, someone asked "Where did McBush graduate in his class at Annapolis?"
I didn't know, so I guessed "last".
Turns out I was only off by a little. He actually graduated 894th out of 899.
Quite the scholar. Explains why he "can't understand economics", I guess.
Then I got a fascinating reply:
"I forget. Did McWalkingCorpse crash 4 or 5 planes?"
Well, you don't know me, but if you did you'd say "I bet you googled that, didn't you, Timbuk?"
To which I'd reply, "You know me, don't you?" ;-> "Of COURSE I did!"
He crashed 5 planes when he was in the military. As a matter of fact, if he hadn't been the son and grandson of two Admirals, he'd probably have been drummed out after the second, and never would have been shot down in combat.
Well, maybe it's best to just let you read it all for yourself here, at "Viet Nam Veterans Against John McCain", but I can't resist giving you one or two more fascinating tidbits from that last link.
Q: How many hours did J. Sidney McCain fly in combat?
A: 20.
Q: How many medals did he win?
A: 28.
That's 1 1/2 medals for every hour he flew in combat!
How many medals do you think the guys on their 4th or 5th tours of duty, who were guarding that slimeball when he went to Iraq to prove how "patriotic" he is, have received? (Hmmm, let's see. That's 70,000 hours in combat, times 1 1/2 medals per hour ... )
Oh, and did you know that once they found out he was the son of an Admiral the North Vietnamese put him in a special hospital that most US prisoners didn't have access to?
Go read the link. You know you want to.
And can I say one more thing?
We're already taking on the GOP and the RW media.
Maybe it's time to start being nicer to our fellow "liberals", again, and focussing some of our anger on the guy who'll start WW III (and do nothing to help the economy) if he's elected?
It really is up to you.
